“Jacob’s” car was filled with water during the flood: “The car floated in the middle of the E4”

During Wednesday, SMHI issued a yellow warning for large amounts of rain that risked causing floods and problems in traffic in Jönköping County. In my eye of the storm was “Jacob”. – It was the worst thing you could imagine, says “Jacob”, whose real name is something else. After work on Wednesday afternoon, Jacob drove a colleague home. On the E4 at the height of Ekhagen, a well released, causing even more water to rush forward. At the same time, a truck and a caravan overturned on the inside, splashing a wave over his low BMW. The truck also blocked his approach. “My car floats on E4″ – Suddenly my engine shut off. There were waves, and there my car floated. My car floated in the middle of the E4, he says. Jacob calls the emergency services and calls his immediate family. – I panicked. I was absolutely terrified at that situation. I didn’t know what was going on. I was like, ‘is this a dream or is this really happening? What’s going on?'” says Jacob. The water started pouring in at his and his colleague’s feet. – It started from below the decks to above the decks to the door and so on. My friend wanted to go out, but I didn’t really want to go out. I was shocked and I just wanted my car to be towed from there, he says. The car was only two months old. When the emergency services arrived at the scene a quarter of an hour later, the water was all the way up to the gearbox. Then Jacob and the colleague were helped to get out of the vehicle. Jacob himself remained at the scene for three hours, and called a rescuer himself. The car was only two months old, but now he thinks it will have to be scrapped. – It does not feel good when I have taken good care of the car, and there is no damage to it. But then it comes like this. Jacob is actually called something else.
