WhatsApp will introduce new restrictions in its application to combat the spread of false information. Messaging plans to limit the number of messages you can forward.
Introduced in a beta version of the Android application last month, this limitation should be integrated soon into the beta version of iOS, before being deployed to all users in the stable version of the application. However, this new rule that limits message forwarding only applies to messages that have already been forwarded.
This isn’t the first time the Meta-owned messaging app has imposed limitations. Three years ago, instant messaging had already limited the transfer of messages to five recipients to limit the circulation of false information.
More recently, to prevent the spread of conspiracy theories at the start of the Covid crisis, the application had set up a limit not allowing the transfer of messages to more than one person at a time.
