12:10 – The favorites
If the adventurers can claim victory, Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty), Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jayco AlUla), Pascal Ackermann (Israel-Premier Tech), Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan Team) and Fernando Gaviria (Movistar Team) are the favourites on the sprinters’ side.
12:00 – The profile of the 12th stage
The 12th stage of the Tour de France is contested between Aurillac and Villeneuve-sur-Lot over a distance of 204 kilometers. The profile is not too hilly, but could still allow the breakaways to have a chance to take the lead and perhaps play for victory. The riders will have two climbs listed as fourth category (Côte d’Autoire and de Rocamadour) before an intermediate sprint in Gourdon. A new climb at km 135 of fourth category will also be on the program before the finish in Villeneuve sur Lot.
11:50 – Stolen bicycles
Eleven bikes were stolen from the TotalEnergies team during the night. The main bikes of Anthony Turgis and Thomas Gachignard were stolen. Turgis no longer has a spare bike. The team is working on it and hopes to count on the help of the other teams. Bikes will also come back down from Vendée, they are expected this evening or tomorrow. A complaint has been filed. The police arrived around 9am.
