The summer began with a strong high pressure that brought sunshine and high temperatures in several parts of the country. However, the further into the summer we got, the worse the weather got. A classic Swedish summer in other words.
Recently, warnings have been issued for both rain, thunder and even floods in several parts of the country.
During Tuesday, SMHI issued a yellow warning for downpour-like rain and heavy thunder that could cause fires.
The warning then applied to large parts of Götaland, Öland and southwestern Värmland.

In light of the recent bad weather and warnings issued, the reasonable question to ask is whether an end to the storm can be predicted.
To find out the answer has News24 talked to Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI. She then gives an account of what the future looks like. And where the weather looks to be at its worst.
– These rain and thundershowers came in over the west coast during Wednesday morning and are slowly moving east and north. Now this line lies over southern Skåne, western Småland, Västergötland and Värmland where more storms are fed in above all over Dalarna.
However, these are not the only places where the storm moves in.
– Then we have south-eastern Götaland, Blekinge eastern Småland, where thundershowers have started to form in just the last few hours and are moving north-east. The warm air that made its way over southeastern Sweden also forms thunderstorms.

However, Fougman emphasizes that there are places in the country where the storm has not yet taken a firm hold.
– It has eased on the west coast where there is no precipitation now. However, there will be heavy rain, thunder and lightning that will reach the east coast late on Wednesday evening. Then it remains to be seen how many thunderstorms will appear in this warm air. There are good conditions that there will be a lot more in the future with persistent rain and organized showers and thunder, she tells Nyheter24.
