Yellowstone is slowly approaching its grand finale, but that is not stopping series creator Taylor Sheridan from pushing ahead with the next projects. This includes Landman, a star-studded series that should be of interest to fans of the Dutton family. The most important information is that the first pictures show cowboy hats. However, it will be a few months before the series starts.
In the Yellowstone sequel Landman, black gold fuels intrigue and power struggles
Instead of Kevin Costner This time Billy Bob Thornton plays the leading rolewho appeared in front of the camera for Amazon’s Goliath and already appeared for Taylor Sheridan in an episode of the Yellowstone spin-off 1883. However, Landman has no connection to the Dutton family from the hit series.
The setting of the new production is the booming oil business in present-day West Texas, as Deadline reports. Billy Bob Thornton plays a crisis manager named Tommy Norris, who navigates the ups and downs of the business with oil baron Monty Miller (Mad Men star Jon Hamm) and his wife Cami (Demi Moore).
Unlike Yellowstone, for example, the basis for this podcast is a podcast called Boomtown, which tells true stories from the area. The series is based on this podcast by “Daredevils and unpredictable billionaires [handeln]that are fueling an economic boom at the expense of climate, economy and geopolitics.”
How much fiction and reality there is in Landman is not yet known. Here you can see pictures from the series:
