Houten municipal council in the dust after signals about unsafe

Mayor’s response

Gilbert Isabella, the mayor of Houten, tells RTV Utrecht that the board is going to improve. “It is a matter of adhering to the agreements and continuing to talk to each other.” He hopes to restore the trust that his aldermen and he – as he himself says – have lost with part of the city hall. “We want every employee to come to work in a safe environment. We have to take the first step in that.”

If it were up to Isabella, that improvement step would start this morning. “We feel extremely responsible for this.”
