Third episode today in our series dedicated to the incredible stories of all those athletes who, throughout history, took advantage of the Olympic Games to escape their home countries. The 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games were not yet over when, in Budapest, Soviet troops regained control of the country and put an end to the Hungarian revolution. Daniel Magay and around forty other athletes then decided to defect.
