In a statement made by the Moscow Court, it was stated that an arrest warrant was issued for Yulia Navalnaya, who lives outside of Russia, on charges of “participation in an extremist group.” According to the decision, Yulia Navalnaya will be detained the moment she enters Russian territory and will be held in custody for two months.
“The court accepted the request of the investigation and decided on a preventive measure in the form of detention for two months. The period will be calculated from the moment of his extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation or from the moment of his detention in the territory of the Russian Federation,” the statement said.

Russian activist Alexei Navalny was detained at the airport after returning to Russia in January 2021 after being poisoned in 2020 and receiving treatment in Germany. In March 2022, Navalny was found guilty of “embezzlement and contempt of court” and sentenced to nine years in prison. After his appeal was rejected, Navalny was transferred to a maximum security prison in June. In 2023, Navalny was sentenced to another 19 years in prison on charges of “extremism.”
On February 16, 2024, Russian authorities announced that Navalny had died in prison in the town of Kharp in the Arctic Circle. After Navalny’s death, his wife, Navalnaya, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin had killed her husband.
