Spotted an interesting or funny video on TikTok? You can perfectly download it on your mobile, if its creator allows it. And, of course, save the ones you’ve posted to keep them.
Unlike most other social networks, which want to keep control over everything that passes through their servers, TikTok allows you to download videos published on its platform, leaving the choice to its users to authorize it or not, thanks to to a privacy setting. And while the majority of TikTok members do not grant this right, there is enough choice among the thousands of videos posted every day to take advantage of this feature. You can then keep them on your phone or tablet, to share them on other social networks or via messaging.
Be careful, whether these are your own creations or those of other users, the TikTok logo and the user’s nickname are then added to the video to specify its origin. In addition, it is still necessary to respect the rights of Internet users: being able to download a video does not make it free and royalty-free. It cannot therefore be used without the consent of its creator.
To make sure you don’t lose the videos you created for TikTok, save them to your mobile.
- Open the TikTok app on your mobile. Your home page loads directly.
- Tap the icon Me at the bottom right of the interface to view your profile.
- Your profile page appears, and all the videos you have posted are visible in the lower part of the screen. Select the video you want to download by pressing his thumbnail.
- The video opens large, in vertical format. Press the three small dots on the right side.
- A menu is superimposed on the video. Press on Record video.
- A progress bar is displayed on the image. When the download is complete, the message Recorded video is displayed very briefly and the video is automatically added to your usual download folder on your device. You can watch it, share it elsewhere or transfer it to another medium whenever you want.
Did you enjoy a particularly interesting video on TikTok? Do not hesitate to save it on your mobile if its author authorizes it.
- Launch the TikTok app and scroll to your home page.
- When you see a video that interests you, tap To share, represented by a arrow to the right, to the right of the video.
- A menu is superimposed on the video. Press on Record video.
- A progress bar is displayed on the video while it is downloading. When the download is complete, the message Recorded video is displayed briefly. The video is automatically saved to your usual download folder on your device. You can retrieve it to view, share or transfer it later by opening this folder.
- If the option Record video is not visible and that only the sharing, duo or collage options are offered, it is because its author has not authorized the download of his video in his privacy settings. However, you can share it on social networks, for example on Facebook, from where you can then download it (see our practical sheet Downloading videos from Facebook).
