Finding a parking space can be something that both takes time and tends to cause some frustration.
In some parts of the country it is easier to find a free parking space and in other parts of the country significantly more difficult.
Now, however, it may become even more difficult, at least if you want to continue parking for free on certain days and times of the day.

Park? Then you have to pay even if it’s free
In Stockholm, the payment service Betala P will disappear in September. The reason is that the City of Stockholm no longer wants to continue developing the app, but instead leaves the market to other players, writes the City of Stockholm on its website.
“On September 30, 2024, Betala-P will be phased out and the city of Stockholm will switch to an authorization system for paying for parking. Parking providers who meet certain requirements can apply to join the system,” it says.
The newspaper compares Betala P with another payment service, Easypark, where the difference is that the latter service also charges a service fee, which Betala P does not.
This means that if the only operator in the area where you park is Easypark, the service fee of SEK 4.95 will be charged even if parking is free for the day or time, writes The World of Technology.
