Former professional footballer Craig Bellamy’s contract with Wales runs until 2028.
Craig Bellamy, 44, is the new head coach of the Wales national football team. Bellamy replaces the one who was fired By Rob Page.
“I will give my all to develop this team and I am passionate about continuing to bring success to Welsh football,” Bellamy said in a statement from the Football Association of Wales.
Bellamy’s playing career included more than 400 games at the major league level. He ended his career at Cardiff City in 2014. He made 78 appearances for the Welsh national team. Bellamy was Wales’ captain from 2007 to 2010.
The Welsh national team legend has been a coach since 2014. Most recently, he was Burnley’s interim head coach and assistant coach in the English Premier League.
Bellamy will be under fire for the first time on September 6 when Wales face Turkey in the Nations League.
