12:20 – Roglic loses big

Slovenian Primoz Roglic lost big with the withdrawal of the eleventh in the general classification, Aleksandr Vlasov. Having fallen violently on the side of the road 50km from the finish of the 9th stage, the 28-year-old Russian had nevertheless managed to set off again and finish in the yellow jersey group. But the tests carried out on Monday during the rest day revealed a fracture in his ankle.

12:00 – Pogacar: “great battles in the next stages”

“I am happy with the gaps I have built up on my rivals. Last year I had to make up time on Jonas (Vingegaard), but it is different this year. It is a more comfortable situation for me, even if 33 seconds on Remco (Evenepoel) is not a huge lead. Jonas and Primoz (Roglic) are not far away either, so there should be some great battles in the next stages,” explained the UAE Emirates Team rider.

11:40 – Evenepoel tempers his remarks

Questioned during the rest day, Remco Evenepoel, for his part, tempered his statements from the day before on Visma’s strategy. “Team Visma | Lease a Bike has its plan and its way of racing. I was not frustrated yesterday (Sunday) by Vingegaard’s way of racing, it was their plan and you have to respect each team’s plans. The race for the podium could have been decided yesterday (Sunday), but you have to accept the situations, accept the tactics of each team and look forward. Visma | Lease a Bike managed the race well, Vingegaard had no problems apart from his puncture, so I can only have respect for their tactics.”

11:30 – Tense duel between Pogacar and Vingegaard

The two men continued to snipe at each other during the rest day. Jonas Vingegaard, accused of doing nothing and watching Pogacar, speaks of simple race intelligence. “If I had ridden with them for 70 kilometers and then found myself alone in the last kilometers – which happened – then my Tour could have been finished. So it’s not a problem of balls, but just race intelligence” about the stage of the white roads.
