Now Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman has spoken out again and is quite optimistic about a sequel.

Since the first plans for a sequel emerged in 2014, Edge of Tomorrow 2 has long since sunk into production hell. In 2019, co-star Emily Blunt talked about how she would love to make a sequel to the sci-fi blockbuster. At the time, however, there was still a lack of brilliant ideas.
Now a new Empire interview with Liman has been published, in which he once again teases a sequel:
We keep talking about it. We love this world. I don’t know how long it took Cameron to make his Terminator movies, but it seemed like a long time at the time.

Doug Liman celebrates first Edge of Tomorrow today
The director did not reveal any more specific information, but he recently watched the first Edge of Tomorrow film watched again with Cruise on the occasion of the tenth anniversary. Liman is said to have still been enthusiastic about the entertaining quality of the blockbuster.
As it stands, fans will have to wait at least a few more years until a possible Edge of Tomorrow sequel appears. Nevertheless, hope dies last (soon more than 26 times).
