The statement shared that the launch was postponed due to weather conditions and said, “The teams continue to monitor the weather conditions.”

There is a possibility that the Turksat 6A satellite launch operation may be postponed until later hours depending on weather conditions.

“TESTS WILL LAST FOR 1 MONTH”

Minister Uraloğlu, who also provided information about the process that will take place after the launch of the satellite, said, “After the launch, our satellite, which will set off with the chemical propulsion system, will reach its permanent orbit at 42 degrees East longitude, 35 thousand 786 kilometers away. We plan to start orbital tests here. After the tests, which will last approximately 1 month, we will receive our satellite and put it into operation.”

Uraloğlu, reminding that TÜRKSAT 6A is one of Turkey’s most important R&D projects and that it was produced with a local content rate of over 80 percent as a result of the intensive work of Turkish engineers, said, “Our satellite will be able to meet Turkey’s satellite communication needs with its communication services and wide coverage area, especially TV broadcasting. In addition, it will also enter the coverage area of ​​India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, which we do not provide service to with our current satellites, and 5 billion people will be served.”

IT WILL REACH ITS ORBIT IN 70 MINUTES

Turksat 6A will reach its temporary orbit approximately 70 minutes after separation from the rocket.

The launch will be carried out with the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket.

Satellite will be able to meet Turkey’s satellite communication needs with its communication services, especially TV broadcasting, and wide coverage area.
