The new British Prime Minister is flying to the United States on Tuesday, July 9, to participate in the 75th NATO summit, for what will be his first steps on the international stage. In terms of foreign policy, Keir Starmer assured Saturday the ” unwavering support ” from the UK to NATO, as well as to kyiv in its war against Russia.

The NATO summit represents the first opportunity for Keir Starmer to establish its stature and positions internationally.

Regarding Ukraine, London has always been very present for kyiv, while US aid in the medium term is increasingly uncertain.

Concerning Israel and the war at Gazaa section of the Labour Party voters, and therefore of the British government, are demanding the recognition of Palestine and an embargo on the sale of arms to the Hebrew state, which Keir Starmer is currently refusing.

The summit in Washington should also allow time for the new occupant of 10 Downing Street to hold one-on-one talks with some of the heads of state and government, including Joe Bidenand to establish his first relations as Prime Minister.

This is finally an opportunity to restore the image of the United Kingdom after several years dominated by Brexit, the economic crisis and political scandals. Now, faced with a France perceived as ungovernable and with the United States awaiting a presidential election with a more than uncertain outcome, London can distinguish itself from other nations by its stability.
