Turku Inter didn’t have to show their best on their home field, when the team easily defeated FC Lahti 3-0 in the men’s football league on Monday.
The team from Lahti, which is leading the league, did not get a single shot on goal in the match. The win lifted FC Inter to seventh place in the series, but the gap to the top six is still six points.
– The important points came home, and finally the goal faucets opened a little, the Inter captain was happy Juuso Hämäläinen.
Darren Smith took the home team into the lead in the third minute. Only 16 years old Djoully Nzoko increased Turku’s lead before the break, and Smith completed the winning numbers at the beginning of the second half.
Inter head coach Vesa Vasara was in a good mood after the match.
– I am particularly satisfied with the attacking game. We completely dominated the opening period and didn’t give Lahti any chances. Now we have to try to press on with our work in order to move up in the league, Vasara explained.
SJK to shared top spot
After the coach change in Oulu, AC Oulu, cheered up, bowed to the hard-charging SJK with a score of 1–2.
The match was decided at the end of the first half, when SJK managed to score twice. The net was waved by those who hit against their old club Rasmus Karjalainen mixed Try Hannola. Oulu’s only child struck Justin Rennicks.
AC Oulu’s season has been difficult, but the team from Oulu only lost for the first time on their home turf in this season’s league. Karjalainen did not air his goal as a tribute to his important opponent team.
– Here (in Oulu), Klubi and KuPS have lost. It was very easy to load into this match. Koutsi said on the bus that he has never seen me so excited, Karjalainen said.
With the win, SJK rose to the top spot in the football league.
