The new words about Peter Forsberg’s sensational comeback – reveal how good “Foppa” really is as a 50-year-old: “It’s impossible”

Peter Forsberg, 50, is still going strong in Switzerland’s veteran leagues.
Now an opponent reveals what it’s really like to face him.
– It’s actually incredibly fun, says Nikolaj Rosenthal.

Peter Forsberg is one of hockey’s greats. He didn’t have perhaps the longest career, as injuries ruined a lot for him, but when he was healthy and at his best, there were few players in the NHL who could measure up to him. Forsberg won two Stanley Cup titles, the scoring league, and a number of other powerful awards during the incredibly powerful career.

Dominating in Switzerland

Add to that that Peter Forsberg also had fabulous tournaments with Tre Kronor, when above all he won two Olympic golds and two WC golds. And the interest in hockey remains to this day. When the hockey World Cup was decided earlier this spring, Forsberg was involved as an expert in Viaplay, but the fact is that he is still reasonably active at home in Switzerland.

Forsberg has been living in the Swiss city of Zug for a few years, and some time ago pictures of Foppa playing hockey in a veteran league spread like wildfire on the internet. Of course, everyone was extremely curious about how Forsberg is doing, and information quickly emerged that he was averaging close to three points per game. And that Forsberg maintains an incredibly high level is now confirmed by one of his opponents, Nikolaj Rosenthal.

“It is absolutely impossible”

Rosenthal himself played hockey at an elite level for ten years, but only in Denmark. When he finished his career, he was looking for a team to just keep going, but he might not have guessed who would be on the other side of the ice.

– When I moved to Switzerland, I quickly found a veteran team, and I ended up playing against Peter Forsberg himself, who lives in Zug, says Rosenthal in the CryptoNews Podcast, and continues:

– There are several players there who have played in the Swiss top league, so all of a sudden I’m playing against a lot of icons, but above all Peter Forsberg.

But how good is Foppa, almost 51 years old? According to Rosenthal, the Swede is still at a high, high level.

– He can really move still. But above all, he is completely impossible to take the puck away from. He is still so strong and skilled. I can go around him and get completely exhausted, just trying to get the puck off him. It is absolutely impossible, because he is so skilled. It’s actually incredibly fun, he says.
