The emergency services were alerted just after midnight that a fire had started in a carport that is connected to the terraced house, and then spread.
When we arrived, the terraced house’s attic was fully on fire, said Henrik Dewoon-Thoren, officer on duty at the rescue service, initially.
The affected townhouse and a townhouse next to it had to be evacuated, a total of ten apartments. No one is said to have been injured in connection with the fire.
People must have gone out on their own, said Henrik Dewoon-Thoren.
At 5:30 a.m., the emergency services had scaled back their efforts.
We have left with most of the resources and are only doing surveillance right now, says an emergency operator at the rescue service.
