Bushido gets his own series on Amazon

Bushido has not been known for his emotional side. In the past, he has mostly acted provocatively to live up to his image as a gangster rapper. The result: negative headlines on a conveyor belt. It hasn’t hurt their success – together with his wife Anna-Maria Ferchichi, the couple has their own reality show on RTL+. Now the rapper wants to show a completely different side of himself: In the new Amazon documentary, he helps people in need to make a new start.

Back on Track – That’s what the new reality documentary with Bushido is about

Bushido (born Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi) knows only too well what it means to be down and out. The 45-year-old gangsta rapper has been in the business for decades, but things aren’t always going so well for him in his private life. One scandal follows the next; a cycle from which there often seems to be no escape. The legal dispute between Bushido and the alleged clan boss Abou Chaker has been making headlines right up until recently.

Now Amazon Freevee is launching a new reality documentary series in which Bushido wants to use his negative experiences to help young people. They should find the courage to make a radical new start and completely turn their lives around. In each episode, Bushido visits one affected person and listens to their moving stories. But be careful: the stories can potentially trigger. Among other things, it deals with eating disorders, leaving a radical cult and the suffering of a gambling addict.

The first trailer promises highly emotional confessions that touch the heart

Bushido wants to help the young adults make a fresh start, but remains the same old man. In the trailer, he encourages the young people quite bluntly to stand by their feelings: “Stand up, be tough, men don’t cry – it’s all bullshit!”

It remains to be seen whether the show can really help to promote sustainable change – or whether the emotional stories of those affected will take center stage. It remains to be seen whether the format will be able to deal sensitively with these sensitive topics. The trailer certainly promises a lot of tears. Don’t forget your tissues!
