In a notice filed on the college’s website, Michael Vincent Sardine is accused of professional misconduct involving a student in the mid- to late-1990s.

The allegations include kissing and sexually touching a student and talking to her about sex.

According to the notice about the upcoming hearing, Sardine is said to have invited the student to his home where they watched TV and she performed housework.

He is also said to have taken her to events and made plans for the teen to live with him or marry her when she was no longer a minor.

Sardine received his teaching licence in 1988 and added skills in English and special education in the early 90s.

According to the Ontario College of Teachers, Sardine’s licence was marked as “inactive/non-practising” as of April 2021.

On the internet, Sardine was last noted to be the head of English at Paris District High School in the 2018-19 school year.

There were no responses from the Grand Erie District School Board for comment by press time.

Sardine’s hearing takes place August 26 and will deal with specific charges of professional misconduct, failing to uphold the ethical standards of teaching, abusing a student and committing acts that were “disgraceful, dishonorable or unprofessional.”
