Two people were injured, including one taken to hospital with “serious injuries,” after a house fire on Lanark Crescent in Sarnia Sunday morning, Sarnia fire officials say.
Nineteen firefighters and five rescue vehicles responded around 8:30 am to the home opposite Lanark Court, said deputy chief Ken Dwinnell, reporting a garage was heavily damaged and the unit, one in a row of connected homes, “appears to be a loss. ”
The fire was quickly extinguished and did not spread to other units, he said.
How it started wasn’t clear, he said, noting the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office arrived Sunday afternoon to investigate.
Dwinnell said he didn’t know the nature of the injuries, but noted both people were treated on scene by Lambton paramedics before one was taken to Bluewater Health.
Four fire stations were involved in the response and Sarnia police were at the scene, he said.
