The Netherlands led the match 2-1 and had one foot in the Euro semi-finals, but Turkey pressed on and created several chances in the closing minutes.
Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen was then responsible for a decisive save in the 91st minute. A save that was very reminiscent of the one Mert Günok made in the round of 16, which saved Turkey that time.

England now awaits in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
– They have a very good team with fantastic players so it will be a challenge for us. Now we will enjoy this tonight and then focus on recovering before that match, says Verbruggen to SVT Sport.
And if there will be another penalty shootout like the one England won on Saturday?
– Then I’m ready, says Verbruggen.
