In the medicinal aromatic plant garden in Nilüfer district of Bursa, therapy is done with bee bed application. Thanks to the hive set up in a cabin, the sounds and volatile gases produced by the bees make the person lying on it more refreshed. Although there is no contact between the bees and the person lying in the cabin, those who enter the cabin feel relaxed. This therapy method, which is traditionally done in Russia, is not widespread in Turkey, but it is quite popular with local and foreign tourists.
THE BEES INSIDE THE HIVE GIVE ENERGY TO THE PERSON LYING ON IT
Dr. Dursun Ünal, who said that people who can hear the bees in the hive in a quiet environment are relaxed and more vigorous, said, “We established this garden 9 years ago as a medicinal aromatic garden. We also combined it with apiculture by adding honeybees here. Honeybees can reach an average of 60-70 thousand in a hive during the peak blooming period.
We can also apply bee beds during these periods. The more they are in number, the more they give energy to the person lying on them. The smell of the volatile fatty acids they bring to the hive spreads throughout the cabin. The frequency of the sound they give from their wings affects the human body. With this mechanism, it gives great vigor to the person lying on it.
It is especially common in Russia. Apitourism has also developed considerably in Europe and has become popular.
“There is no contact between a person entering the bee bed and the bees. The bees’ entrance is on a different side of the cabin, while people enter from another side. The sound, smell and energy coming from the grill on the thin board between the person and the bees are beneficial to the person,” he said.
FOREIGN TOURISTS ARE VERY PLEASED
Dr. Ünal stated that tourists have shown interest in this therapy method, which has been applied in Russia and some European countries for years, after learning that it is also available in Turkey, and said, “This place is located in the Dağyenice Neighborhood of the Nilüfer district. It is an area where organic farming is done and there is no noise pollution around us. We first established this place as a hobby.
“Over time, especially Arab tourists started to show interest in our garden. The medicinal and aromatic plants and bees growing in our garden were in demand,” he said. (İHA)
