Are you tired of being bothered on the phone by persistent canvassers? You can now report them to the authorities using a handy app.

Good news for all those who are fed up with unwanted calls! The SignalConso platform, managed by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), is evolving to allow consumers to report abusive telephone canvassers. These calls, often from numbers starting with 09 48 or 01 62, promise energy savings in the name of the State. But the DGCCRF firmly reminds: “The State never canvasses”.

To combat these practices, SignalConso offers a new function dedicated to reporting telephone canvassing. To report an abusive call, simply go to the Abusive approach section of the platform, then to Telephone canvassing. You can then indicate the suspicious telephone number as well as the date and time of the call. This process is simple and quick, allowing you to contribute to the fight against these scams. In 2023, SignalConso has already recorded 270,000 consumer reports. With this new possibility of reporting telephone canvassers, the number of reports could well increase, thus strengthening consumer protection.

But that’s not all. The DGCCRF is also improving the monitoring of consumer requests. From now on, once a report has been made, the professional contacted must indicate the measures he intends to take to resolve the problem. Once the report has been processed, the consumer is invited to give his opinion on the effectiveness of the proposed solution. This new procedure ensures greater transparency and efficiency in the handling of disputes.

SignalConso doesn’t stop there. For users of the mobile application, available on iOS and Android, it is now possible to receive notifications about recalls of dangerous products, whether food, toys or electrical appliances. This function is particularly useful for parents, who will be able to receive specific alerts on infant food products.

The application also provides easy access to practical advice and the results of surveys conducted by the DGCCRF. All this information is available in the News tab of the application, keeping you informed of the latest consumer news.
