Will your Xiaomi phone get HyperOS 2.0 and Android 15? Find out in just a few clicks

Will your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone get Android 15 and HyperOS 2.0? MeinMMO explains how you can find out with little effort. All you need is a free app, which you can uninstall after the check.

Xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, alongside Samsung and Apple. In mid-2023, a major change was introduced: Xiaomi wanted to replace its old software interface MIUI with the new HyperOS system. HyperOS is also based on Android, but is just a different interface and offers different personalization options than the old MIUI.

If you want to know if your Xiaomi phone will get Android 15, all you need is a free app and no more than one click.

Free app lets you check whether your phone will get HyperOS 2.0 and Android 15

What kind of app is this? It is the HyperOS Downloader app, which you can find and download from the official PlayStore. The app comes from a private provider and is not official from Xiaomi. The app analyzes your device and operating system and shows you which model you have and which version you have installed.

Much more importantly, however, you can see directly in the app menu whether your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone will be updated with the next version of HyperOS. However, this only works if Xiaomi has already introduced the update and the app also receives the relevant information.

And in our opinion, this is also the most useful function of the app: you can see with one click whether you will receive the update to Android 15 or not. After that, you can theoretically uninstall the app again, because the system upgrade is offered via Android itself.

What else can the app do? The app offers additional options and tools:

  • You can search for information about ROMs from other regions, but this is usually not that relevant.
  • You can update the system apps, but this can also be done via the PlayStore without an app.
  • The app also provides details about some experimental and hidden features in the system.
  • Is there any criticism of the app? Yes, many users complain in the PlayStore reviews that the app is full of ads. According to the latest update, the developers claim to have reduced the number of ads, but the criticism is still there.

On top of that, some people complain that system apps cannot be updated or that they don’t need this app for that.
