ai the world and now ready for his very first major at the British Open

Charlie Lindh is ranked 801st in the world ranking, and far from the world elite.
But now the golf idol is ready for his first major – the British Open at classic Royal Troon.

During one of the last qualifying competitions for men’s golf’s last major of the season, there was a Swedish success that was enough. After the two rounds lay the Swedish doldis Charlie Lindh in shared third place together with the LIV players Anirban Lahiri and Abraham Ancer.

The three went to a playoff for the last two places into the main competition in just over two weeks, and Lindh took one of the two places. After Anirban Lahiri only managed to make bogey, while Ancer and Lindh made par, it was clear that the Swede has qualified for his first career major.

The article continues below.

The Swede rolled in his short par putt, and can thus prepare for by far the biggest competition of his career – at classic Royal Troon where Henrik Stenson won eight years ago.

Lindh plays his more everyday golf on various tours. This year, he has done five competitions on the Asian Tour and six on the Challenge Tour (the tour under the European Tour), but without placing particularly high on the leaderboard. He is ranked 801 in the world.

Six Swedes are thus qualified for the British Open, which begins on July 18: Ludvig ÅbergHenrik Stenson, Sebastian Söderberg, Alexander Björk, Vincent Norrman and finally Charlie Lindh.
