Russia has destroyed five Ukrainian SU-27 fighter jets and damaged two more in a drone attack on a military airfield in the Poltava region of Ukraine.
This is stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Video footage posted on Telegram shows smoke and flames rising from what is claimed to be an airport near the city of Myrhorod in eastern Ukraine.
The information about the attack comes at a time when Ukraine is waiting for promised deliveries of F-16 planes from several NATO countries.
