Eleven Finnish children got to accompany the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo captained by Portugal in the quarter-finals of the European Championship against Slovenia. There were Finnish children from all over the country, aged 6–10. They had been able to escort the Portuguese team through the competition.
The jubilation of the Finnish children was already at its height behind the scenes of the Frankfurt stadium, when Ronaldo and another Portuguese star Pepe threw upper femmes with children.

Based on the behind-the-scenes video, Ronaldo apparently promised to fulfill the Finnish child’s mystery wish after the match.
Also Portugal head coach Robert Martinez inspired Finnish children to shouts of encouragement.
Portugal’s tournament ends with a defeat. With a win, Portugal will meet France in the quarterfinals.
