Marabou is an originally Swedish chocolate brand, which today is owned by the American chocolate giant Mondelez International.
One of the absolute most popular products that we Swedes love to buy is, not entirely unsurprisingly, the chocolate bars in various flavors. 2024 was a year of change for the chocolate bars, which received both new packaging and a new look.

The big M on the packaging looks different depending on the flavor. But then the chocolate cake itself changed too.

The cookies will have the same weight as before but the shape has become a little different. The new chocolate cake is thicker and shorter than before. According to Marabou, this should give a slightly more generous taste experience.
Marabou’s new taste creates reactions
During the week came the news that Marabou is now releasing a completely new flavor. The new flavor is nothing less than “Coffee and digestive” which, to say the least, sounds like a good idea, which the customers also think.

So it’s not the flavor itself that made people react – but the name of the flavor.
Marabou has named the chocolate cake “Movienight”.
Several of the customers believe that coffee is not part of a movie night, but that it would rather be “chips” or similar in the chocolate cake – even though this particular flavor sounds very good. And the reactions – they could not be expected.
“It sounded good. But strange name for that flavor in my opinion”
“Yes, afternoon coffee would have been more appropriate”
“Yeah, it didn’t sound so cheesy”
“Should it be called Swedish coffee?”
“What kind of goddamn workshop is it when someone gets such a lousy idea that no one stops? Who the hell watches movies and eats digestives with coffee? No one who has any friends anyway”.
