Färjestad failed completely in the SM play-offs last spring.
Now they are flexing their muscles for the coming season.
FBK has finished with an NHL-merited forward as a prestige signing.
Last SHL season, Färjestad won the regular season and went into the SM playoffs as the big favorite for gold. But it was a big fiasco right away when they went out against Rögle after 0-4 in matches already in the quarter-finals.

Since then, FBK has rearranged both the playing squad and the coaching side to bring about a change and become even more powerful for the coming season. Now comes the next piece of the puzzle to the team building and it will be a real prestige signing.

The SHL team is in complete agreement with the NHL meritorious Marian Studenic. The Slovak has been introduced as a new acquisition right after losing the AHL playoff final with his Coachella Valley Firebirds.
46 NHL games
The 25-year-old has played 46 games in the NHL but comes closest from two seasons in the AHL with 48 and 44 points in the regular season. Now Studenic has signed a two-year contract and is moving to Värmland to make his SHL debut.
– He is very useful all over the court, can play both power play and box play. Since he has just finished the season anyway, we must all give him some time to grow into the new suit and hopefully be at his best when it matters most, says the sporting director Richard Wallin in a press release.

The forward left his native Slovakia already as a junior and moved to North America, therefore Studenic has only played 25 A-team games in European hockey for Slovan Bratislava.
– Färjestad always goes to win, and it’s a good team I come to. Then being able to feel stability in everyday life is also something I look forward to. It takes a toll when you don’t really know from day to day whether you’re going up or down in the system. Getting security, and playing in front of a passionate home crowd here is really something I’m looking forward to, he says in his first interview with Färjestad.
