Alleria Windrunner

Alleria is one of the three Windrunner sisters and was a high-ranking ranger of the High Elves during the time of Warcraft II. She was also part of the expeditionary force that went to Draenor to stop the orcs in their homeland.

Alleria as portrayed in The War Within.

For a long time she was thought to be dead or at least lost, but she resurfaced with the Legion expansion. She and her partner Turalyon fought alongside the Army of Light against the Legion for several centuries – time passes differently in the Nether.

During the final confrontation with the Legion on Argus, Alleria had to make a difficult decision. She absorbed the energy of the dying Naaru L’ura and became the first elf to be filled with the Void.

Later, when some Sin’dorei were transformed into Ren’dorei due to her research into Void magic, she took care of this group and thus practically became the leader of the Void Elves.

Like all Void Elves, Alleria constantly hears whispering voices from the Void – from the Old Gods, but also from other Void creatures, such as Xal’atath.

Xal’atath repeatedly taunts Alleria and tries to drive her insane so that she can become her servant. So far, Alleria has resisted this and therefore has a special drive to put Xal’atath in her place.

We will certainly find out in The War Within whether she will succeed.

Dagran Thaurissan II.

Some of you may be rubbing your forehead in surprise, because most players have probably heard very little about Dagran Thaurissan II. His story actually began in Vanilla – WoW Classic.

Moira Bronzebeard was captured and kidnapped by the Dark Iron dwarf Dagran Thaurissan. That’s why the heroes had to go to Blackrock Depths and free Moira.

However, it soon became clear that Moira had not been kidnapped at all, but was with Dagran Thaurissan voluntarily and out of love. Thaurissan was killed by the heroes, but Moira was pregnant by him.

Some time later, her son is born and in memory of his deceased father, she names him “Dagran Thaurissan II.”

Since then, Dagran has mostly only been mentioned in the books or various short stories; he has not yet made a relevant appearance in the game itself. However, that will change with The War Within.

More importantly, Dagran is the legitimate heir to the dwarven throne. Although Ironforge is currently ruled by the Council of Three Hammers, this is only a temporary solution. As soon as Dagran comes of age, the council will be dissolved and he will take over the leadership of the dwarven kingdom.

Dagran and his mother Moira.

Since he is already shown as a well-advanced teenager in The War Within and has been given his own model, it should only be a matter of time before the dwarves of Ironforge must swear allegiance to their new king. He is probably 16 or 17 years old by now – depending on how much time has passed between Dragonflight and The War Within.

His mother Moira’s plan apparently worked perfectly.

You will find three more important characters on the next page.
