Denmark: Putin’s claim about nuclear missiles is wrong | News in brief

According to the Danish Ministry of Defense, the country does not have medium-range nuclear missiles.

The Danish Ministry of Defense knocks out the Russian president Vladimir Putin yesterday’s claim that the US had brought medium-range nuclear missiles to Denmark.

Putin used the claim as a justification for the fact that Russia is also starting to manufacture medium-range missiles, which until now have been prohibited by the arms limitation treaty.

– NATO is a defense alliance. Deterrence and defense are NATO’s core missions, and they are necessary because of Russia’s aggressiveness. The military exercises are part of the constant deterrence. No medium-range missiles have been deployed in Denmark, the ministry writes in a message sent to the news agency Ritzau, which is reported by a Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
