Basketball-sized meteorites strike Mars daily, much more often than scientists previously thought.

A NASA space probe, which landed on Mars in 2018, has allowed scientists to listen to the planet’s internal rumblings to measure impacts, something that proved to be more accurate than looking at pictures.

Every year, between 280 and 360 meteorites strike, with explosions creating craters about eight meters wide.
