Here, Sandvik’s windmill on Öland finally gets its wings back

The renovation of the mill, which in addition to new wings has also been painted and plastered, is estimated to cost around one million kroner. The County Administrative Board in Kalmar County is responsible for 90 percent of the cost, and the local community association for the rest.

– It feels great. It’s a very nice feeling, says Åke Nilsson, chairman of Åkerbo Hembygdskrets.

In just over four hours on Friday morning, the blades of the windmill were put in place. The work was carried out with the help of a crane and two people at a high height manually fixed the wings in place. Photo: SVT
