Ebba Busch’s speech in Almedalen on Friday was interrupted by activists who shouted “resign” and “murderer”.
– I am quite tired of certain people taking the liberty of destroying others, Ebba Busch replied.
In front of a flowery fund, Ebba Busch began her speech by listing things that the government had achieved about halfway into the mandate period. The KD leader highlighted, among other things, harsher punishments, tightened migration – and the heart issue of healthcare.
– Finally, work is underway to change the ancient healthcare organization with more national governance.
Busch then moved on to issues of values and common culture, underlining that measures such as jobs and a common language are indeed important – but not enough.
– If we want a change, we have to talk about values. If we want a change, we must state that certain values are not optional. We have to distinguish between what is good and what is bad, said Ebba Busch.
Chanted “resign”
The speech was interrupted at times by a group of Palestine activists who chanted “resign” and “murderers”. They had a band with them
Ebba Busch chose to deviate from the script and give answers in speech.
– I am quite tired of certain people taking the liberty of destroying others.
According to the TV4 Nyheternas reporter on the spot, other people in the audience are starting to get upset with the protesters.
– It is so threatening. Unfunny, says one in the audience to TV4 Nyheterna.
The demonstrators were not satisfied when the party leader’s speech was over, but have come along to the subsequent press conference to continue demonstrating.
During the press conference, Busch told, among other things, that she avoided public meetings in the final stages of the EU elections precisely because of the risk of disturbances and protests.
