Twenty people arrested in Bolivia after yesterday’s coup attempt | News in brief

A total of 17 people have been arrested in Bolivia for their connection to yesterday’s coup attempt, says the country’s interior minister Eduardo del Castillo.

A general was arrested yesterday Juan José Zúñiga for leading the coup and the head of the navy Juan Arnez Salvador.

Troops under Zúñiga’s command rallied yesterday with tanks outside government buildings in the country’s administrative capital, La Paz. Soon after, soldiers and tanks were seen pulling away.
