For almost a year, Europe has not had its own access to space. The Ariane 5 rocket was retired last year (2023). Its younger sister, Ariane 6, is due to take off for the first time on 9 July 2024. A crucial first launch for Europeans, shaken up by competition from the American Space X, the rise of the Chinese space sector, and the proliferation of start-ups that promise to revolutionise space with new (very) small rockets.
“Ariane 6, a rocket to send Europe back into space”, a major report by Justine Fontaine. Directed by: Pauline Leduc.
