Alarms about a fire came to the rescue service just after one o’clock on Thursday. A tractor has caught fire and the fire has spread to the grass on the Finnmossen peat bog in Surahammar.
– Approximately 200 square meters are on fire. There are no homes that are threatened at the moment, says Tommy Wållberg, rescue officer.
The fire is surrounded at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, and the Fire Service assesses that the risk of spreading is over. The rescue service is on site with several forces and a helicopter. According to Sweden’s Radio P4 Västmanland fire engines have also been called in.
The emergency services expect that they will be on the scene until 7 p.m.
