  • Police action in Linköping – suspicious object

    The police have set up cordons at Linköping’s travel center, which Corren was the first to report on. They are investigating a suspicious object.

    Two cars collided on the E22 at Mönsterås at around 3:30 p.m.

  • MC driver found in ditch

    At around 3 p.m., the emergency services received an alert about a motorcycle accident south of Åtvidaberg.

    Passers-by should have found a driver on a motorcycle in a ditch, write Corren.

    The person must have been awake and able to speak and had to be taken to hospital.

  • Swede sentenced in Russia for fighting with Ukraine

    A Russian court on Wednesday sentenced a Swedish man in absentia to 23 years in prison for having fought alongside Ukraine, the Kyiv Independent reports.

    In addition to the Swede, three men from Great Britain and one from Croatia were also convicted.

    The trial against the five men began in the partially Russian-occupied Donetsk in August 2022. Only a month or so later, however, they were released in a prisoner exchange.

    The court that sentenced the men is located in the Russian city of Rostov-na-Donu near the border with Ukraine.

    TT has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a comment.

  • Suspected drowning accident in Norrtälje

    The rescue service is currently on the scene at Lommarbadet in Norrtälje for a suspected drowning accident.

    – People have called in and said they heard screams. We haven’t found anything, but are looking further, Roger Sverndahl, management operator at the Greater Stockholm rescue service.

    The caller suspected that someone had ended up under the bridge. The rescue service is currently assisted by divers from Stockholm.

    – We will be there for about another hour.

  • Man to hospital after drowning accident

    During the afternoon, a drowning accident occurred at the swimming pool Hökåsengropen in Västerås.

    – Resourceful private individuals have found a person in the water and picked up the person. We are there and assisting the healthcare system, says Roger Sverndahl, management operator at the greater Stockholm rescue service.

    The person has been taken to hospital.

    Aftonbladet receives information that a knife robbery allegedly took place in a garage in Liljeholmen, in southern Stockholm.

    The police confirm that they have been dispatched to the scene, but do not want to comment further on the case.

    – We have received information about a suspected crime, but I don’t want to go into what type of crime it is at the moment, says Daniel Wikdahl at the police.

    21 Palestinian children diagnosed with cancer have been allowed to leave Gaza for treatment outside the besieged strip of land, Al Jazeera reports.

    In pictures, families are seen in tearful farewells before the children are then taken out via the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

    The effort takes place in collaboration with the World Health Organization and an American aid organization, according to the Qatar-based media company.

    More than 25,000 children in the Strip are in need of care abroad, the health ministry in Hamas-ruled Gaza said in a statement.

  • Boy went armed to the Israeli embassy – sentenced

    Two nights in a row in mid-May, armed boys were arrested who appear to have had their sights set on the Israeli embassy.

    One of the nights, the police were able to find findings that indicated that a shooting had taken place. The motive for the shooting is unclear. But the embassy was the target, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

    A 15-year-old boy was charged with a felony weapons offense after being caught armed with a loaded gun in a taxi heading to the Israeli embassy.

    Now a 15-year-old boy is sentenced for serious weapons crime to eleven months of youth supervision, Nacka District Court announces.

    The incident has previously been pointed out by the Israeli intelligence service Mossad as an Iranian commissioned job.

    According to the information, which was reported by The Jerusalem Post, among others, the criminal network Rumba, led by the wanted Ismail Abdo from Uppsala, carried out the shooting on behalf of Iran.

    The information has not been commented on by the prosecutor.

  • Tram in collision with car in central Stockholm

    A tram has derailed and collided with a car at Djurgårdsbron in Stockholm.

    The emergency services are currently on the scene and are waiting for a tow truck.

    The Social Democrats’ party secretary welcomes Jan Emanuel back to S.

  • Police are investigating the deaths at Northvolt

    The police are investigating possible connections between the three deaths at Northvolt in Skellefteå, the police write on their website.

    The investigations are classified as deaths without suspicion of crime and at the moment there is no suspicion of crime.

    However, there is uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of the deaths because it was not possible to get clear answers during the forensic examinations as to what caused the deaths of the persons.

    A verbal statement has been provided in the latest investigation that one of the people may have been exposed to a substance at their workplace, the police state.

    Interrogations will be conducted during the next week.

    Jan Emanuel has applied to join the Social Democrats again, he reveals on Expressen’s stage in Almedalen.

    – The folk list as a larger movement is over.

    Folklistan invested heavily in winning votes in the EU elections, but in the end the party landed on 0.6 percent of the votes.

    There are a few local sections left of Folklistan but no more than that.

    Jan Emanuel was forced to resign his membership in S when Folklistan was a fact, at the urging of party secretary Tobias Baudin.

  • Motorhome and lorry in collision on the E4

    A mobile home and a truck have reportedly collided on the E4 at the height of Örkelljunga in the northbound direction, the police write on their website.

    Police and emergency services are called to the scene.

    Update 1.30pm: A fine is issued to the driver of the mobile home. No one was injured in connection with the incident.
