The Green Party wants more forest owners to choose to move away from felling the forest through clear-cutting.

The party therefore proposes that the state should give favorable loans to owners who want to change the way they use the forest, that the state should provide more advice on forestry and that new business models for forestry be investigated.

    – More forest must be protected, yes, but the big question is not whether the forest should be farmed, but how the forest is farmed, says spokesperson Daniel Helldén at a press conference in Almedalen.

    – We are increasing the freedom of choice for Sweden’s forest owners, he asserts.

According to MP, the proposal will cost the state SEK 10 million a year in interest costs.

    – Today’s forestry has few winners and many losers, says spokesperson Amanda Lind.

    – The winners are the big forest companies. The losers include the rural residents who do not own forests but have their home forest felled next to the knot.

  • Gallant: Could send Lebanon to the Stone Age

Israel does not want war in Lebanon – but has the ability to send the neighboring country “back to the stone age” if diplomacy fails, claims Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

    – Hezbollah understands very well that we can cause massive damage in Lebanon if a war starts, says Gallant.

The statement came during Gallant’s last day in Washington, where he met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, among others.

Fears of a full-scale war in Lebanon have risen in recent weeks, as shelling between Israel and the Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah in Lebanon intensified. During the visit to Washington, Gallant has stated that Israel has killed over 400 “Hezbollah terrorists” in recent months.

On Wednesday, the UN’s head of humanitarian affairs warned that a war between Israel and Hezbollah could have “apocalyptic” consequences. If Lebanon is drawn into the war, Syria and other countries will also be drawn into it, Martin Griffiths believes.

    – The war in Gaza has shown us a new level of cruelty. But we are all worried that this is just the beginning, he said.

    What is the reason then?

That’s right Anna! And that’s because of the bag ban that was introduced in November due to the heightened terror threat level. However, you may bring your bag into Skansen, it is precisely the concert area that is covered by the ban.

Hi Bernt! We have a lot of readers with very different interests – and that’s lucky! Judging by our statistics, many people wanted to read it yesterday. 😄

  • Do you have any statistics on shootings, explosions etc. this year? I feel like I’ve been reading new ones every morning 🙁

    Have a great day everyone.

    Staffan V.

Hello! The police for statistics on that, which you will find here! Then from time to time we also make summaries of e.g. shooting deaths. So far this year, 18 people have been shot dead, so the number is down from last year. But compared to our neighboring countries, it is still at a high level.
