It depends, is the short answer to the question.
The rules for how fast you can drive a mobile home vary depending on the weight of the mobile home and the driver’s license.
Driving faster than permitted with your motorhome can, in addition to increasing the risk of accidents, lead to both fines and a suspended driver’s license.
That’s how quickly you can drive a motorhome with a B driver’s license
When it comes to how the weight of the motorhome affects how fast you can drive, you often talk about motorhomes that weigh more or less than 3,500 kilos.
Most modern motorhomes in Sweden have an operating weight of up to 3,500 kilos, and are registered as ordinary passenger cars.
This means that you can drive the motorhome on a regular B driver’s license, and you can drive just as fast as with any passenger car. This means that in all situations the posted speed limit applies.

That’s how fast a larger motorhome can drive
If the motorhome weighs between 3,500 and 7,500 kilograms, it can be registered as a heavy truck.
In that case, you may drive a maximum of 80 km/h on country roads and 90 km/h on motorways or motorways.
To drive a motorhome registered as a truck, you must have a C or C1 driving license. In some cases, however, you may drive a motorhome weighing more than 3,500 kilograms, if you obtained your B driving license before 1 July 1996.
For a motorhome that is registered as a regular passenger car but weighs more than 3,500 kilograms, the posted speed limits apply.

Other rules may apply abroad
If you decide to go outside the country’s borders with your motorhome, you should be aware that different countries may have different rules for how fast you can drive your motorhome.
Researching what applies in the country you plan to visit is therefore recommended.

What about caravans?
An alternative to getting a mobile home can be to tow a caravan behind your regular passenger car, in which case the same rules apply as for any trailer.
This normally means that you can drive at a maximum of 80 km/h. In some cases, however, the speed limit for an unbraked caravan may be only 40 km/h.
There are also caravans that are technically not classed as trailers without trailing vehicles, and lack both suspension and license plate.
These wagons are equipped with an LGF sign and may be driven at a maximum speed of 30 km/h.
