Nasa paid SpaceX to help destroy the space station ISS | News in brief

The US space administration, Nasa, says that it has paid the space company SpaceX more than 840 million dollars for assisting in the destruction of the international space station ISS.

Nasa says it has ordered a vehicle with which the ISS is supposed to be “controlled out of orbit in a safe and responsible manner”. The partially obsolete ISS is scheduled to derail its orbit into the Earth’s atmosphere at the end of 2030.

The ISS, which operated mainly under the leadership of the United States and Russia, has been in use for more than 20 years.
