Toscana Aeroporti begins work on the Pisa passenger terminal

(Finance) – Tuscany Airports presented the project today progress of expansion and renovation works of the terminalPisa Galileo Galilei Airportwhich involves increasing the surface area by 28%, from 39,500 to 50,600 m2 to accommodate between 6 and 7 million passengers per year.

The works were entrusted to the subsidiary company Tuscany Airports Constructionthey will begin the July 22nd for an expected duration of 28 months and will be carried out with a investment of approximately 70 million of Euro.

The jobs will be carried out in 3 distinct phasesthe first of which to be completed within 12 months involves the creation of the new arrivals hall on the ground floor of a new building intended to house the technical offices and powered by a 300 kW photovoltaic system. Following, the arrangement and adaptation of the first floor reserved for departuresfor works that will last approximately 11 months, and finally the renovation of thecurrent departures terminal which will allow for complete and functional separation of the boarding area from the arrivals.
