Selling the Android phone you no longer use is always a good choice, both for your wallet and the environment.
But before you sell your old Android phone, there are several things you should do that can increase your chances of getting it sold.

1. Backup
First of all, it is important to make a backup copy of your Android, so that you can later transfer the copy to your new phone.
To back up your Android, navigate to Settings –> Google –> Photo/video backup and press Backup now.

2. Factory reset
Once you’ve backed up your Android, it’s time to factory reset it. This will clear all your data on the phone and make it ready for a new user.
Exactly where you factory reset your phone can vary between Android models and versions, but it’s usually somewhere in the Settings app. If you can’t find the right one, check your phone manufacturer’s support page.

3. Remove the SIM card
One thing that can be easy to forget is to remove the SIM card from the phone before sale, unless you have an Android with e-SIM.
To remove the SIM card, you need a paper clip or the pin you may have received when you bought the phone. You push it lightly into the small round hole next to the SIM socket to get the SIM card out.

4. Clean the screen
Your phone screen is usually dirtier than you think. Cleaning it regularly is important – and even more important when you’re selling your phone to someone else.
To clean the screen, it is best to use soap and water and gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth.

5. Don’t forget the charger and mobile phone case
Last but not least, it can be good to also sell the charger and mobile case together with your Android, as long as you don’t want to continue using them.
Make sure they are in good condition and working – then you can both get more money and increase the chance of getting your phone sold.
