Charlotte Baris: 8 euros… This is the average price per cubic m3 of water which could appear on your bills in a few years. Baptiste, I realized while preparing the episode that I didn’t really know what my water bill was. So I suggest you explain it to us in detail.
Baptiste: In 2022, in mainland France, the average price of water was 4.34 euros per cubic meter, i.e. for 1,000 liters. And so in this price, you pay around 20% in taxes and fees and the remaining 80% correspond to direct charges – this is what is used to renovate the installations or treat the wastewater. In fact, we can say that water pays for water.
