A fire of around 1,500 square meters rages at a waste facility in Vaggeyd.
The emergency services were alerted shortly after midnight and have been working on extinguishing the fire during the night.
– We are still there with ten people and are also getting help from staff at the facility, says rescue leader Henrik Dovrén.
The emergency services have also worked to prevent the spread to nearby buildings, which they have succeeded in doing. There is still a lot of smoke from the fire and residents in the area are asked to stay indoors.
– It hasn’t subsided that much yet, says Henrik Dovrén.
It is currently unclear what caused the fire. The rescue service uses sand to try to cover the fire.
