The police have launched an operation since a man was reported missing during a mountain hike in Stora Sjöfallets National Park.
The police were alerted on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday the area was searched with a police helicopter.

“The work has mainly been focused on information gathering and internal reconnaissance,” says the spokesperson Maria Linnaeus at Police Region North.
The man’s car found – without him
The search has been focused on finding the car the man was driving. It must have been found during the day and then the mountain rescue was contacted. The helicopter is once again on its way to the scene.
“It is easier to search if you have a geographical location to start from,” she says.
