After the 7th season of Rick and Morty celebrated its German premiere in October 2023 on Warner TV Comedy, the new episodes of the sci-fi hit have finally been added to Netflix’s program. A look at the Series charts of the streamer, who have seen Rick and Morty at the top for days.
But the new episodes are waiting with a big change which, however, will only be noticed by fans who watch the series in the original English language.
Rick and Morty is back with season 7 on Netflix ‒ and new voices for the two title heroes
After series creator Justin Roiland was accused of domestic violence in 2020, the future of the popular animated series seemed uncertain for a long time. The lawsuit was officially dropped due to insufficient evidence, but the accusations against Roiland have not diminished. Roiland and Rick and Morty have now gone their separate ways – which also meant a big change for the series.
Because Roiland lent his voice to both Rick and Morty in the English originalEnglish-speaking fans as well as those international fans who prefer the original sound will have to get used to new voices for the two title characters in season 7. In the new episodes, Ian Cardoni can now be heard as scientist Rick Sanchez, while his grandson Morty Smith is voiced by Harry Belden.

In the German dubbed version, however, nothing changes due to the recasting. Here, Rick and Morty continue to lend their voices to Kai Taschner and Tim Schwarzmaier.
What happens after Rick and Morty season 7?
An 8th season of Rick and Morty has already been confirmed. This is 2025 in the USA. We assume that the German premiere will take place close to the US premiere.
