Thomas Brolin knows what it takes to go far in the championship.
Now he takes on today’s football and says what he thinks of the Swedish national team.
– I have missed it in this Zlatan generation, admits the WC 94 hero.
The last time Sweden’s men’s national team achieved great success in a championship was the soccer World Cup in 1994. Then our blue and yellow heroes surprised the entire soccer world and exceeded all expectations.

These days, the Swedish men’s national team is outside football’s fine room and has failed to reach two straight championships. It resulted in the national team captain Jan Andersson had to leave and now must Jon Dahl Tomasson lead Blågult into the future.
The words about Zlatan
Brolin now gives his honest view on Swedish football and what he thinks of the national team today. And it’s a clear fit Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was the great leader on the field for many years and influenced so many young players.
– They must have this feeling that you help each other on the pitch, that you lift each other up. I have missed it in this Zlatan generation, they have not stepped up in important matches. You have played some good matches, but it is not enough to go far, says the WC 94 hero in an old interview with SVT.

Tomas Brolin simply does not think that today’s Swedish national team players are as good as the edition he was a part of in 1994.
– It’s the knowledge, they’re not good enough, it’s so bad. This generation we had 94, they don’t grow on trees. Many want to experience 94 again, but if you don’t have the material, you can’t conjure, he says to the TV channel.

The Swedish legend obviously hopes that things will get better in the future and that Sweden will find its way back to the top of the world again.
– You have to work together and help each other – then you get better. I haven’t really seen that in this national team. I hope they show it now and that we go far, but unfortunately the chances are very small, he admits in the interview.
