    The police are investigating a rape that took place outdoors in central Vänersborg on Monday afternoon.

    Now a man in his 50s is suspected of crimes against a woman in her 40s.

    – It was people passing by who raised the alarm about ongoing rape, says Annika Laag, press spokesperson at the police.

    Laag states that the man and the woman have known each other for a long time.

    – We were quickly on the scene and were able to arrest the suspect.

    The emergency services in Luleå have been called out on an alarm about a fire in an apartment building in central Luleå, write NSD.

    The emergency services are on site.

    – According to the caller, there is black smoke billowing from an apartment, says the SOS operator to the newspaper.

    Police, ambulance and three units from the emergency services were called to the scene.

  • Denmark stops training Ukrainian fighter pilots

    Denmark will stop training Ukrainian pilots for the F-16 fighter jet, says the country’s Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen.

    The decision is based on the fact that Denmark plans to switch to the newer F-35 planes in the coming years. Currently, about 20 Ukrainian pilots are being trained for the F-16 in the country, but no further training efforts for the fighter will be conducted in the country after 2024.

    The Minister of Defense states that Denmark may still contribute to pilot training, but then in other countries.

    – Today, Ukrainian pilots are also trained in Romania, but no decision has yet been made about and how Denmark will contribute there, says Troels Lund Poulsen.

    Denmark has previously committed to donating 19 F-16 planes to Ukraine, starting this summer.

    The police in Malaysia have arrested eight people with suspected links to the terrorist group IS.

    In total, there are six men and two women between the ages of 25 and 70. According to the country’s interior minister Saifuddin Nasution, the people are suspected of having been involved in creating a threatening image against, among others, Malaysia’s prime minister and king.

    The eight people now in custody were arrested this weekend, in connection with crackdowns in four of the country’s states.

    Three Swedes are said to have been sentenced to death in Iraq.

    “The embassy has had some contact with the detainees,” writes the Foreign Ministry’s press service in an email.

    So far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has had a death sentence confirmed by Iraqi authorities. They are still working to find out what happened to the other two men.

    “The Swedish embassy in Baghdad, which is currently relocated to Stockholm, is working intensively to seek confirmation of any sentence for other persons, and is in continuous contact with local authorities,” writes the press service.

    It is the Inspectorate for care and care (Ivo) that has decided to temporarily ban the operation after receiving information about serious misconduct.

    A police employee is charged with buying sex on eight occasions at the Thai massage parlor in Kristianstad, which turned out to be a hidden brothel, reports P4 Kristianstad.

    Previously, the woman who ran the business has been sentenced to prison for two years and eight months for aggravated pimping.

    During the trial, the women who worked at the massage parlor told how they were asked to masturbate for customers and have intercourse with them.

    The convicted woman also allegedly threatened and scolded the women in order to induce them to perform sexual services.

    A research institute in Fryazino near the Russian capital Moscow is in flames, state-run Russian Ria reports.

    According to the news agency, an extensive operation is underway to rescue people from the upper floors of the building.

    In video footage from the scene, the facility can be seen surrounded by heavy, black smoke. Open flames are visible in several windows.

    According to Ria, the research center Platan deals with electronics and radio components. It is unclear how the fire started.

    Hello! The police for statistics on that, which you will find here! Then from time to time we also make summaries of e.g. shooting deaths. So far this year, 18 people have been shot dead, so the number is down from last year. But compared to our neighboring countries, it is still at a high level.
